📖 Lesson B1 Grammar📐 Grammar

⏳ Grammar B1-3: Present Perfect vs Past Simple

A complete B1 grammar material on the present perfect / past simple contrast, built to the Fleydo CEFR Grammar Syllabus (topic B1-3). It opens with the single rule that resolves almost every case — a named or implied finished time forces the past simple — and shows it on a timeline where the past simple sits inside a closed box and the present perfect runs up to NOW. Form and use are then set side by side, every example speaks when tapped. A twelve-item sorting task turns signal words from a memorised list into a decision about finished versus open time; a natural six-line conversation lets learners tap any verb and read why that tense was chosen; eight practice items and a six-item scored test each explain themselves. A correction section carries six sentences B1 learners genuinely write, and a dedicated section explains why Turkish speakers (no finished/open time distinction behind -di and -miş) and German speakers (Perfekt used for ordinary finished past events) make opposite-looking errors from the same cause. Teacher notes give a minute-by-minute classroom sequence, the highest-yield board move, the Cambridge B1 Preliminary relevance and the follow-up topics. The browser print command outputs it as a worksheet with all corrections revealed.
