🖐️ Little Stars 7: One to Five

A complete 45-minute teacher-led lesson that opens the Counting Fun unit of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey. Numbers at this age are never recited into the air: every number word here lands on something real that the children can see, hold or land on. After the fixed Hello Routine with the puppet Pip, a finger chant runs three rounds — slow, faster and a whisper round — with one finger going up on every number. Then Pip jumps on the table and the class counts each jump aloud while a row of dots fills on screen. In the heart of the lesson the puppet asks “Give me two!” and children count one, two or three soft blocks into its hands, because handing over the right quantity matters far more than chanting to five. A number hop along five big floor dots gets everybody moving, and a play-dough screen has each child roll and count balls up to five. Nothing is read and nothing is written, nobody is ever out of a game, and every attempt is praised. A closing teacher screen carries the minute-by-minute plan, the materials list, support and challenge notes, the 30-minute adaptation and the home connection.
