🧭 Grammar A1-13: Common prepositions
Written for A1 learners of about seven to ten, this material teaches to, from, with, for and of the way a child can actually hold on to them: not as a list, but as five jobs with five pictures — to is where you go, from is where you start, with is together or using, for is who gets it, of is what it belongs to. It opens with the pattern strip and five model sentences, sets out the five jobs in one table, and gives ten tap-and-repeat cards built on the chunks children really say. Practice is spread over four sets: eight easy items, a ten-card sorting task that pairs verbs with to or from (go, listen, walk, give versus come, take, fall, get), six items on with, for and of with three options each, and eight harder items inside a short story about Zeynep, Marco and Aisha whose every preposition can be tapped for an explanation. Every multiple-choice answer explains itself in language simpler than the grammar being taught. Teacher notes give a 45-minute sequence, the five-picture board move, a two-minute physical fix for the to and from confusion, and the follow-up topics.
