📰 Horizon: Passive Across Tenses

The crew arrives to find the studio wall covered by the Passive Matrix and spends the week as reporters. Learners see that every passive is one machine — be in the matching tense plus a past participle — then drill the perfect passive (has/have been + done) and the future passive (will be / is going to be + done) through news-flash transformations, matrix bingo and a news bulletin of their own.

auto_fix_high Grammar Points

  • Passive voice = be in the matching tense + past participle; only be changes tense, the participle never does
  • Present perfect passive: has/have + been + past participle (The schedule has been published)
  • Past perfect passive: had + been + past participle for an earlier past event (The winner had already been announced)
  • Future passive: will be / is going to be + past participle (The winners will be announced)
  • The by-phrase is used only when the doer adds real information; news style usually omits it
