🎈 Little Stars 34: Balloons and Cake

A complete 45-minute teacher-led lesson that opens the Party Time unit of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey — and quietly revises the whole course while feeling like nothing but a birthday party for the puppet Pip. After the fixed Hello Routine, a real party bag is passed round the circle and gives up its three new words one at a time — balloon, cake, present — with the class echoing each word twice. Six inflated balloons then bring back all six colours of the rainbow unit: the children shout the colour before the screen ever agrees, and count the balloons together at the end. A four-line Happy Birthday sings the party chunk to Pip in three rounds — slow, faster and a whisper — with five candles lit and counted one by one before everybody blows at once. Pass-the-present hides a revision picture under each of six layers: a colour, a number, an animal, a fruit, an action and a toy, so every unit of the course comes back as a party surprise nobody notices. A freeze dance brings back the action words, and the lesson closes with calm breathing, a sticker and the Goodbye Song. Nothing is read and nothing is written; pointing and joining in are always correct answers. The closing teacher screen carries the minute-by-minute plan, the materials list, the balloon-safety rule, a quiet revision checklist, the 30-minute adaptation and the home connection.
