🏃 Little Stars 31: Run and Jump

The first I Can Move lesson of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey, and the loudest 45 minutes of the course. After the Hello routine with the puppet Pip — done sitting down, because it is the calm minute before eight wild ones — Pip demonstrates four actions with no words at all: run, jump, hop and clap. The class copies the movement first and only then receives the word, gesture before word every single time. The heart of the lesson is green light, red light: the green lamp calls an action and everybody moves, the red lamp means freeze like a statue while the room counts to three, and nobody is ever out — a child who moves on red simply freezes late. The Action Song runs three rounds, slow and huge, then fast and loud, then whispered with tiny movements, and that whisper round is a deliberate calm beat. In the circle each child stands up alone, does their action and says the chunk “I can jump!” while everybody else sits and claps. A slow-motion cool-down — turtle run, one floaty balloon jump, three whisper claps — three breaths with Pip, a sticker and the Goodbye Song close the lesson. The teacher plan carries the energy rhythm explicitly: two wild minutes, then one calm minute, with every calm beat marked to the minute. Oral only — nothing is read or written at Pre-A1.
