💌 Horizon: Letter to My 2035 Self

The future module’s task lesson. Learners build a letter to their 2035 selves in four moves — opening, projections, calibrated hopes, one promise — integrating future continuous (you’ll be studying…), future perfect (by then you’ll have taken…) and probability calibration (may well, might, unlikely to have grown) in a single warm, personal text. In the story, the crew writes on real paper because no app survives nine years, performs chosen excerpts in the performance circle — Sam’s joke turns into one sincere line — and seals the letters with red wax into a time capsule labelled DO NOT OPEN UNTIL 2035.

auto_fix_high Grammar Points

  • Future continuous will be + -ing paints an activity in progress at a future moment: In 2035 you’ll be reading this on some strange new screen
  • Future perfect will have + past participle counts what is complete before then: By then, we’ll have finished school completely
  • Calibrated hope language: is likely to / may well / might + infinitive, including the perfect infinitive for past-by-then events (unlikely to have grown much taller)
  • Time anchors that trigger the future perfect: by then, by the time you read this, by 2035
  • Promise and sign-off patterns: I promise to + verb…, Signed, 2026 me
