📈 Grammar B2-28: Comparative structures: advanced
Everything a learner meets before B2 freezes one difference and holds it still. This material adds the comparisons that move. The proportional frame — the + comparative, the + comparative — links two changes so that one drives the other, and it is drilled hard where learners actually fail: normal statement order inside both halves with no question inversion, the second the that nobody may drop, and the way be disappears from both halves in the shortest versions. Alongside it sits comparative + and + comparative for a change that keeps going, with the rule that long adjectives repeat only more. The lesson closes the intensity toolkit begun at B1 — far, much, considerably, slightly, marginally, not nearly as, nowhere near as, twice and half as — and sets a static comparison against a proportional one built from the very same data, so learners see that only the second one states a rule a reader can act on.
