👕 Little Stars 25: Get Dressed!

A complete 45-minute teacher-led lesson that opens the My Clothes unit of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey. It keeps to four garments only — t-shirt, trousers, shoes and hat — because at Pre-A1 restraint beats coverage. After the fixed Hello Routine with the puppet Pip, the four clothes are taken off a washing line one at a time and the whole class echoes each word twice; a four-line Get-Dressed Song mimes the routine from head to toe in a slow and a faster round. Then Pip calls “Put on your t-shirt!” and the children pull on oversized adult clothes — a giant t-shirt, big trousers, big shoes, a floppy hat — always OVER the clothes they are already wearing, so nobody ever undresses, changes or leaves the room. A two-team teddy relay dresses two teddies garment by garment with the whole class cheering for both teams, and a colouring screen lets every child colour a t-shirt in their favourite colour. Recognition always comes before production: pointing and miming count as correct answers. Nothing is read and nothing is written. A closing teacher screen carries the minute-by-minute plan, the materials list, support and challenge notes, the 30-minute adaptation and the home connection.
