Learners discover that a human update changes gear three times — have been + -ing for activities, have + past participle for countable results, past simple for the dated moment — and train openers, follow-up questions and the three classic traps (state verbs, counting vs continuing, for vs since) before role-playing reunions and writing a real update message to a relative.
