Andrea de Lange

I am a qualified Foundation Phase educator from South Africa with experience teaching learners across different age groups and learning environments. I have taught Coding and Robotics to Grade 1–4 learners and have also taught the full CAPS curriculum, including English, Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Life Skills, to Grade 4–6 students. In addition to my classroom experience, I have been teaching English online for almost a year, working with learners from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

My teaching methodology is strongly learner-centred. I believe that students learn best when they are actively involved in the lesson, feel comfortable expressing their ideas, and are encouraged to ask questions. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where learners feel confident to participate, practise their English, and develop both language skills and critical thinking abilities. I also value problem-solving, creativity, and communication, as these are essential skills that help learners succeed both in school and in everyday life.

I enjoy designing lessons that are engaging, interactive, and meaningful for students. My goal is always to adapt my teaching to the needs of the learner, helping them build confidence while improving their language abilities step by step.

What I love most about teaching is seeing learners grow in confidence and understanding. It is incredibly rewarding to watch a student overcome a challenge, express themselves more clearly, or discover that learning can be enjoyable. Teaching allows me to continue learning as well, and I am passionate about creating positive learning experiences that inspire curiosity, motivation, and a lifelong love of learning.

I am available Monday - Friday. However, I do make time on weekends if learners need extra support.
