⏮️ Grammar A1-25: Past simple of “to be”

A1-25 takes the verb learners already know from A1-1 and moves it into finished time, for children of about seven to ten. It opens with the picture that carries the whole topic — three words become two: am and is turn into was, are turns into were — then shows every person in one table beside its today form. Tap-and-repeat cards give the sounds, and practice is spread over five sets: eight easy gaps, a ten-card sort that separates yesterday words (yesterday, last week, an hour ago) from now words, six items on wasn’t, weren’t, questions and short answers, eight harder two-gap items around a short beach story with tappable explanations, and six items on the trap that catches everybody — I was, but you were, even for one person. Six typical errors follow, then a six-question test with a scored result band. Every answer explains itself in language simpler than the grammar being taught.
