📖 Lesson B2 Speaking🎓 Education

🖼️ Horizon: Visuals & Q&A Handling

The lights go down on a ninety-four-word slide and the crew holds an autopsy: five slide crimes, five fixes, then redesign sprints that cut walls of text down to seven legible words. In the second half the chairs turn round for Q&A practice, hostile edition. Learners drill the four-step bridge — acknowledge, rephrase, answer honestly, return to the message — and master the grammar behind it: embedded questions with statement word order, whether for yes–no questions, and the disappearing auxiliary did. Aylin’s survived ambush models the whole system; homework is one minimal visual and a dinner-table ambush.

auto_fix_high Grammar Points

  • Embedded questions take statement word order: You’re asking whether the plan works (no inversion, no question-form)
  • In embedded yes–no questions use whether or if; before “or not”, only whether works
  • In embedded wh-questions the auxiliary did disappears and the main verb carries the tense: why I chose this topic
  • Q&A bridge discourse markers: That’s a great question / So you’re asking whether… / As I mentioned… / …which brings me back to…
