Research week before the crew’s first formal debate. Learners train the fact/opinion filter, learn to report evidence with “According to…” and calibrated reporting verbs (shows, suggests, claims), and build one-claim evidence cards with a reliability check: recent, relevant, reliable, not exaggerated. In the story, Sam falls for a beautifully written opinion, Marco discovers that statistics have birthdays, and Aylin’s properly cited quote becomes the class favourite.
