📚 One Book, Two Books, Many Books
In Lesson 5 of the Fleydo A1 Adults grammar series, students learn how to form plural nouns in English — a foundational skill for describing the world around them. The lesson opens with a warm-up comparing ONE (singular) and MANY (plural), then follows Anna, Marco, Yuki and Mr Brown on a Saturday trip to Camden Market in London, where plurals appear naturally in every stall and conversation. A 20-item vocabulary table groups nouns by their plural rule: just +s, +es after sibilants and -o, consonant+y becoming -ies, -f/-fe becoming -ves, and key irregular forms (men, women, children, feet, teeth, mice, people). Three grammar boxes present the rules from easy to tricky: Box A covers the regular +s rule (about 80 percent of nouns), Box B details the three main spelling patterns with examples, and Box C lists the core irregular plurals students must memorise. Plenty of practice follows: a 10-question interactive game, a 6-question multiple-choice quiz, 8 typed fill-in-the-blank sentences from Anna's market diary, a speaking task about family and friends, and a writing task where students produce 5 sentences about their favourite things. The lesson ends with a clear self-assessment checklist.
