🛰️ Grammar B2-6: Future perfect; future continuous consolidation

At nine I’ll be driving; by nine I’ll have arrived. Same evening, same clock, two completely different reports — and English chooses between them with one small word. This material consolidates the future continuous you already know and gives the future perfect its full machine: will have plus a past participle, negatives, questions and short answers, plus the milestone use that counts a total up to a future date. A signal table splits the time phrases into the two families that decide everything (at, this time, when you call versus by, by the time, in three years’ time), a four-question decision routine turns the split into a habit, and one worked run chains all three futures across a single launch night so the system is visible at once. Thirty-one multiple-choice items, a twelve-chip sorter, six corrections and three traps drill the choice against the errors learners really make: will have went, by misread as a moment, and plain will used where a milestone is meant.

  • Two cameras aimed at one future moment: at nine I’ll be driving, by nine I’ll have arrived.
  • Pattern strips for both forms and a timeline showing a band running through the moment and an event finishing before it.
  • The formula: will be + -ing for what is running, will have + past participle for what is behind.

auto_fix_high Grammar Points

  • will have + past participle: form, negatives (won’t have + participle), questions (Will you have…?) and short answers.
  • will be + verb-ing consolidated: a moment you stand inside, filmed while the action is still running.
  • The signal split: at / this time / when + a moment take the continuous; by / by the time / in … time take the perfect.
  • The milestone use of the future perfect: counting a total backwards from a future date.
  • Plain will + verb for a whole event landing on its time, contrasted with both aspects.
