🔗 Grammar A2-16: Basic connectors

Five connectors, taught as one decision instead of five separate words. The material starts from a single pair of facts — the tram stopped, Yara was late — and shows that because and so never change the story: the reason is the reason either way, and the only thing that moves is which half you wrote first. That turns the choice into a question a learner can actually answer at the desk: is the half already in front of the gap the explaining one? The time connectors get the same treatment on a drawn time line: the half after before is always the later event, the half after after is always the earlier one, and when covers a single shared moment. The last piece is the comma, which is explained rather than listed — a fronted time half closes with a comma because the reader needs to know where it ends, and so is the one word that can never move to the front at all. Practice runs across four scored sets of eight, a ten-chip reason-or-result sorter, six commit-first reveal cards, a tappable rainy-Saturday story with nine explained connectors, and six repairs of the fragments and double connectors A2 writers really produce.
