🧺 Little Stars 24: The Class Picnic

The Yummy Food checkpoint of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey, staged as a class picnic so that nothing feels like a test. After the Hello routine with the puppet Pip and two rounds of the Yummy Tummy song, the whole class packs a real basket: one child at a time drops a food prop in while everybody names it twice — apple, banana, orange, milk, bread and cake. Then the blanket goes down, every child sets a paper plate, and pairs rehearse the two things they will ask for; this rehearsal is where the shy children are rescued. In the picnic itself the teacher is the server: each child comes and asks politely, thanks the server, and the class claps every single turn, while Pip hands over a sock or a shoe now and then to be giggled at and corrected. The teacher plan carries the checkpoint list with two tick boxes per child — the polite chunk and four food words — plus the rule that real snacks are used only with prior written parent consent. A three-song medley, the Tidy-Up Song that does the tidying, calm breathing and the fixed Goodbye Song close the lesson. Oral only — nothing is read or written at Pre-A1.
