🔤 Grammar A2-6: Articles with countable and uncountable nouns

The sixth material of the Fleydo A2 grammar series. It treats the article as a decision, not a habit: can I count this noun, do we both already know which one, is it one new countable thing, or am I talking about it in general? The countable test comes first and does most of the work, because an uncountable noun such as rice, butter, money, homework or advice can never take a or an — although, as the material insists twice, it can take the whenever the words around it say which one. Two worked examples run whole sentences through the four questions step by step, one ending in an old map and one in the rice in the blue bag. A compare-and-verdict pair shows a dragon turning from a dragon into the dragon within one line, and a second pair separates milk in general from the milk in the door of the fridge, because the zero article with plurals and uncountable nouns is where the marks are won and lost. Practice is spread over four sets of eight, seven, eight and eight items, every one of them explaining its own answer, plus ten nouns to sort, six reveal cards, six real errors to repair and three traps. A short tap-and-explain story about a night in a tent shows all three choices working together in natural writing.
