💬 Explorers: The Great Mini-Debate
A fully interactive A2.2 Kids speaking lesson that closes the Opinions unit by turning everything into a real mini-debate. Master explorers begin with four warm-up questions, then study a three-box debate toolkit: The Debate Recipe (opinion → two reasons → polite reply), Opinion & Reason Language (I think + because + and also, plus a short 'I agree'), and Disagree Politely (a swap table that changes rude lines into kind ones, with a signal-words panel: I think, In my opinion, because, and also, I agree, Maybe but). Ten key words (opinion, debate, reason, agree, disagree, politely, motion, argument, vote, point) appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a Debate File in which Team Compass holds their first mini-debate about summer versus winter, with opinion language, two-reason arguments and polite disagreement shown in context and seven hover-tooltip words. Practice includes eight contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (think, because, agree, also, but, politely, motion, vote) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; a speaking section with five debate prompts and a five-line model mini-debate between the four explorers; a guided 30–50 word writing task where students write their best argument with two reasons and a four-point checklist; and a full eight-question quiz mixing opinion language, polite disagreement and two comprehension questions about the reading, with a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle with tiered feedback and localStorage persistence.
