🦁 Sunshine Club: Dear Zoo!
A fully interactive A1.1 Kids reading lesson from the Sunshine Club series (Animal World unit), built on a Dear-Zoo-style flap story. Children warm up naming big and small animals and saying the story chunk 'It's too big!'. Two simple pattern boxes present the lesson chunks: 'It's too + word!' (too big, too tall, too scary… so send it back!) and the send / send-back pattern with formula chips, examples and a story-chunk panel. Ten story words (zoo, pet, send, back, letter, elephant, giraffe, snake, puppy, perfect) fill the vocabulary table with 3-6 word definitions, and six become flashcards. The Story Corner is a 90-word retelling: Ela writes 'Dear Zoo, please send me a pet', the zoo sends an elephant (too big!), a giraffe (too tall!) and a snake (too scary!) before the perfect puppy arrives — with hover-tooltip help on six words, big repetition for echo re-reading, and a word-card chip row of six sight words for the early-literacy strand. Practice gives 8 one-word story blanks with live feedback and hints; speaking mirrors the classroom flap-guessing pairs with five say-and-ask prompts and a five-line model game dialogue; the writing task turns the homework ('Play flap-guess with family') into a personal Dear Zoo line with three frames, a 10-20 word target, a four-step checklist and a live word counter with auto-save. The closing 8-question quiz checks story comprehension and chunk recognition with one-line explanations, progress bar, score circle and localStorage persistence.
