🎉 Let's Make Plans: Suggestions & Invitations
A fully interactive A1 Teens speaking-and-functions lesson built around a real teen situation — making plans with friends. Students warm up with four reflection questions about weekend plans and how they invite friends, then study a grid of eight fun activities (watch a film, play football, get a pizza, go to the cinema, go to the park, go swimming, go shopping, play games). A language block teaches suggestions with Let's + base verb (plus Why don't we…?, How about…?, Shall we…?), invitations with Do you want to…? and Would you like to…?, and a clear two-column box of ways to say yes (Good idea! Yes, please! Sure!) and say no nicely (Sorry, I can't. Maybe later. I'm busy.), with a you-say / friend-answers table. Nine essential phrases are chipped for memorisation. The reading is a Friday-evening text chat between Sam and Leo planning a Saturday — cinema and pizza — including Mia politely refusing; every functional phrase is bolded and key words are tooltipped. Ten A1 vocabulary items appear in a horizontally-scrollable table, and six core items get detailed flashcards. Practice includes 8 contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (Let's, base verb, Do you want to, Why don't we, Good idea, can't, free, meet) with hints, live validation, and score tracking; a speaking task where partners plan a weekend together with prompts and a model dialogue; a guided writing task to write a text message with a five-point checklist and live word counter; and a full 8-question multiple-choice quiz with progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle with tiered feedback, and localStorage persistence.
