🎧 Builders: How to Watch in English
A fully interactive B1.1 Media Lab lesson (Builders' Studio, ages 10-13) that turns watching for fun into deliberate listening practice. Learners meet the three-tool watch-protocol: the Subtitle Ladder (English subtitles on, then only hard lines, then off), Pause & Predict (stop a scene and guess the next line before checking), and Echo the Line (rewind, listen for stress and rhythm, then copy the exact sound and feeling of the speaker). Ten key words are taught in full B1 definitions with examples (subtitles, pause, rewind, echo, clip, gist, chunk, predict, caption, protocol), six of them revisited as flashcards. The reading, 'Studio 10 Watch Night', shows Aylin, Marco, Priya and Sam using every step on a real clip, with hover-tooltip glosses. Practice offers 8 single-word fill-in-the-blanks on the protocol vocabulary with live validation, hints and a running score; speaking gives five planning prompts plus a six-line model dialogue; the writing task is a 40-70 word watch report tied to the homework, with a four-point checklist and live word counter with auto-save; and an 8-question quiz mixes protocol strategy with two reading-comprehension questions, showing a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and localStorage persistence.
