🏞️ Explorers: The Island Expedition
A fully interactive A2 Kids reading lesson in the Nature & Journeys unit built around an island expedition recount. Students begin with four warm-up questions, then study a reading toolkit in three blocks: Follow the Order Words (spotting First / Then / After that / Finally and past verbs and transport), Route Words (along / through / across / up / down / to for tracing the map), and a Trace the Route table that maps each step of the expedition from boat to treasure. Ten key words (expedition, island, route, map, shore, cave, path, jungle, treasure, beach) appear in a scrollable table with definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is the richer centrepiece: The Island Expedition, a ~120-word Team Compass recount that sails by boat to a mystery island, follows a path through the jungle, finds a map and climbs into a cave to find treasure — with all four order words, past verbs, transport and route words, key words highlighted on hover, and a word-cards row. Practice has 8 single-word comprehension-and-grammar fill-in-the-blank items with live validation, hints and a score; a speaking section with five route-tracing prompts and a five-line Team Compass dialogue; a guided 25-45 word writing task retelling the expedition with a four-point checklist and live word counter with auto-save; and a full 8-question quiz weighted to reading comprehension plus recount grammar, with progress bar, explanations, a result circle and localStorage persistence.
