📖 Lesson B2 Writing🎯 Exam Prep

⚖️ IELTS Agree or Disagree Essay: Structure, Thesis and 4 Band-8 Models

This IELTS agree or disagree essay lesson is for band 5.5–7.0 candidates who want a reliable method for the most common Writing Task 2 question. It explains the three positions the examiner accepts (agree, disagree, a specific partly-agree) and how Task Response is judged, then gives thesis-sentence formulas for each position, a four-paragraph and a five-paragraph plan with word budgets, the claim–reason–example–link pattern for body paragraphs, how to answer 'to what extent', and what a conclusion must and must not contain. Four complete band 8-style model essays on 2026 themes (AI and teachers, remote work and productivity, taxing unhealthy food, free public transport) are each followed by an annotation of position, structure and best phrases. A natural phrase bank, two interactive practice sets, a thesis-and-plan writing task with a model, a common-mistakes table and an eight-question quiz complete the lesson. Afterwards you can plan and write a consistent, well-argued opinion essay in 40 minutes.
