🤝 Grammar A2-25: Offers and suggestions

The twenty-fifth material of the Fleydo A2 grammar series, and the one that turns a learner who understands English into a learner who can take part in it. Offers and suggestions are four fixed shapes, so the material is built on the only thing that can go wrong: the word that comes straight after the opener. Shall I, Shall we, Why don’t we, Why don’t you and Let’s all take the plain verb — no to, no -s, nothing in between — while the about family, How about and What about, takes an -ing word or a plain noun. That single split is stated as a formula, drilled as a four-step procedure, and walked through three worked examples: an offer of help, an -ing after about, and a Let’s statement that ends in a full stop rather than a question mark. A compare-and-verdict pair separates the two jobs these forms do, because Shall I offers my own help and expects Yes, please or No, thanks, while Shall we, Let’s, Why don’t we and How about propose something for both of us and expect Good idea or I’d rather not. Because these sentences exist to be answered, a whole section teaches the natural replies, including the polite refusal that always carries a reason. Practice runs to thirty-one explained multiple-choice items across four sets, ten sentences to sort by who does the work, six reveal cards, six real errors to repair and three traps, with a rainy-Saturday dialogue that shows all of it working at once.
