Lesson 15 is a Show & Shine lesson — the checkpoint of the My Family unit, and a little theatre rather than a test. Pip wakes up with a small frame of its own, the class sings the Finger Family song it already owns, and then names every person in Pip’s big photo together, twice, before anybody speaks alone. Each child then decorates a frame for their family photo, or for a drawing made this morning if there is no photo, and whispers the show line to a partner while the glue dries — the rehearsal is where a shy child is rescued, never the performance. In MY FAMILY SHOW each child stands on the gold star for ten seconds, holds the frame up high and names two or three of their special people with “This is my …!”, the teacher echoes every word warmly and the whole class claps. All the frames go up on the class family tree, and the lesson closes with three calm breaths, a sticker and the fixed Goodbye Song. The teacher plan carries the checkpoint card: two or more correct family words per child means on track.
