🎬 Explorers: Actions in the Past

A fully interactive A2 Kids grammar lesson that introduces the regular past simple through the Explorer Club's playful -ed Machine. Students begin with four warm-up questions about yesterday, then study the language in three clear blocks: Verb in → past out (base verb + -ed for yesterday, with past signal words: yesterday, last night, last weekend, two days ago, this morning), Three spelling doors (just add -ed; add only -d after -e; change consonant + y to -ied), and a Machine word list pairing eight base verbs with their -ed past forms (play/played, watch/watched, cook/cooked, walk/walked, talk/talked, help/helped, clean/cleaned, jump/jumped). Ten key words appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a magazine-style Team Diary, Our Busy Saturday, that shows the regular past in natural context as the four explorers play, jump, paint, walk, help, clean, cook, talk and watch, with key vocabulary highlighted on hover. Practice includes eight contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (all single-word -ed forms) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; a speaking section with five yesterday prompts and a five-line model dialogue; a guided 25-45 word writing task with a four-point checklist (time word, three -ed verbs, one thing at home, read-aloud check) and a live word counter with auto-save; and a full eight-question multiple-choice quiz mixing past-tense form, spelling and two reading-comprehension questions, with a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and localStorage persistence.
