🧱 Builders: The Baseline Talk

A fully interactive B1.1 teens speaking-task lesson from the Builders' Studio Launchpad, where students give their course baseline talk. Four warm-up questions reactivate their English story, then a three-part task toolkit teaches how to build the talk: the 90-Second Blueprint (three thirty-second beats — About Me, My English, My Two Targets), Language to Keep You Going (sentence starters, fillers such as well/actually/you know/let me think, and a rescue move for lost words), and the Builder Rubric (a four-row table scoring content, fluency, clarity and targets). Ten key words (baseline, talk, rubric, target, goal, fluency, confident, nervous, prepare, improve) come with full B1 definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. Part four is a model transcript — Marco's Baseline Talk — showing all three beats with seven hover-tooltip words. Practice offers eight single-word fill-ins with live feedback and hints; the speaking section is the task itself, five ordered prompts plus a six-line rehearsal dialogue between Aylin and Sam; the guided 40-70 word writing task prepares the two-targets homework with a four-point checklist and live counter; and an eight-question quiz mixes toolkit items with two comprehension questions about Marco's talk, with progress bar, explanations, a result circle and localStorage saving.
