📝 Explorers: The Task Games
A fully interactive A2.2 Kids Exam Taster lesson from the Explorer Club Master Level, where exam tasks become the playful Task Games. Master explorers meet the two common Flyers/Key-style task types — gap-fill and matching — and learn calm, game-framed strategies. The Strategy Focus teaches the two task types with a task-word panel, then the Five Smart Steps: read the whole sentence, hunt the clue before and after the gap, use grammar clues (a/an, plural -s, past -ed), do easy ones first, and check twice, plus a task-word table (choose, match, tick, missing, example). Ten key words (task, gap, match, choose, tick, missing, option, definition, example, careful) appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a short Explorer story of Team Compass playing the Task Games, with hover-tooltip vocabulary and the strategies shown in context. Practice offers 8 single-word fill-in-the-blank items on the task types and strategy steps (including a/an and plural grammar clues) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; a speaking section has explorers explain how they found each answer, with a five-line model dialogue; a guided 30–50 word writing task asks students to make their own gap-task strip for a friend with a four-point checklist and live word counter with auto-save; and a full 8-question quiz mixes strategy questions with two comprehension questions about the reading, with a progress bar, explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and localStorage persistence.
