📖 Lesson A2 Reading🌍 World Around Us

💬 Explorers: Two Sides of the Screen

A fully interactive A2.2 Kids reading lesson from the Explorer Club Master Level. Students learn to read a for/against text and map both sides — the good reasons and the not-so-good reasons — before choosing their own side. After four warm-up questions, they build a reading toolkit in three blocks: What Is a For/Against Text? (topic + FOR side + AGAINST side, with a signal panel: some people think, others think, on one side, on the other side, however, but), How to Map Both Sides in three steps (read the title, find the FOR reasons, find the AGAINST reasons), and a worked Two-Sides Map about homework. Ten key words (screen, screen time, healthy, fun, active, against, both sides, argument, balance, however) appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a 120-word for/against article about screen time with a clear FOR side, AGAINST side and a balance conclusion, and seven hover-tooltip words. Practice includes eight contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (against, healthy, however, both, active, balance, argument, screen) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; a speaking section with five which-side prompts and a model six-line two-sides talk; a guided 30–50 word writing task where students pick a side; and a full eight-question quiz mixing reading strategy and comprehension, with a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and localStorage persistence.
