🎬 Explorers: Yesterday Diary Entry
A fully interactive A2.1 Explorer Club writing lesson — the past-tense writing debut. Students begin with four warm-up questions about yesterday, then study a three-block Diary Toolkit: The Diary Recipe (the 4-line shape — two things you did with -ed, one thing you didn't do with didn't + base verb, and one feeling), Feeling Words (I was + happy / tired / proud / excited / bored / surprised) and Read It Aloud (a table of the three -ed sounds: /t/ walked, /d/ played, /id/ wanted). Ten words (diary, yesterday, played, helped, cleaned, visited, happy, tired, proud, excited) appear with kid-friendly definitions and examples, and six get review flashcards. The reading is Leo's Diary, a model magazine-style diary entry from Team Compass that shows exactly the target shape — affirmatives, a didn't line, and a feeling — with seven hover-tooltip words. Practice has 8 contextualised fill-in-the-blank items that build a diary line by line (regular -ed pasts, a base verb after didn't, was for feeling, and lesson words) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; speaking is a diary read-aloud sound-check with five prompts and a six-line diary-circle model dialogue; the star writing task is a guided 25-45 word yesterday diary with a four-point recipe checklist (two did, one didn't, one feeling), a live word counter and localStorage auto-save; and a full 8-question multiple-choice quiz mixes past-writing grammar, the -ed sounds and three reading-comprehension questions, with a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and persistence.
