👨👩👧 Sunshine Club: Family and Ages!
Lesson 21 of the Sunshine Club A1.1 series (ages 7-9) closes the core of the My Family unit by structuring everything into the two-sentence portrait. Children warm up counting one to ten, saying their age and pointing ('She's my friend!'), then study one clear pattern box: Make a portrait!, with two formula lines (He's/She's + my + family word, then He's/She's + number) and three model portraits, plus a tips panel (Sentence 1: family word, Sentence 2: age, He's = He is, She's = She is) and a Numbers-hello-again box that recycles one to ten as chips. The vocabulary table mixes two new words (portrait, age) with revision (sister, brother, grandma, grandpa, star) and the numbers one, four and ten, and six words get flashcards. Story Corner tells 'Portrait Day!' (about 70 words): Nina and Omar stand up in the circle and give two-sentence portraits of dad, sister, brother, grandma and the one-year-old baby brother, with five hover tooltips and a six-chip sight-word row. Practice offers 8 one-word blanks (numbers, is, grandma, grandpa) with live feedback and hints; Speaking runs the portrait-circle game with five short prompts and a 6-line Omar-and-Ela dialogue; Writing reframes the homework as two full portraits using He's/She's frames with ages, a 4-step checklist and a 10-20 word counter; and the Sunshine Quiz asks 8 ultra-simple questions (two about the story) with one-sentence explanations and saved progress.
