👾 The Friendly Monster Under the Bed

In this warm, gentle storybook for A1-level teen readers, nine-year-old Ben hears a strange noise under his bed one night. When he looks, he finds two big green eyes — a monster! But this monster, named Mo, does not roar or jump. He is small, green, and furry, and he is crying because he is lonely. All the children are afraid of him, but Mo just wants a friend. Ben sees that Mo is kind and they become best friends. When Ben's other friends are too afraid to meet Mo, Ben makes a clever plan to show everyone that Mo is gentle and funny. Soon the whole town learns an important lesson: you cannot judge someone by their looks — you must look at the heart. Written entirely in present simple with very short sentences and lots of body-part and feelings vocabulary, this 14-page story is perfect for beginners. It features embedded vocabulary tooltips, interactive flashcards, a vocabulary matching game, fill-in-the-blank practice, and a 10-question comprehension quiz.
