💼 Explorers: The Job Fair
A fully interactive A2.2 Kids speaking lesson that closes the Have To unit with an Explorer Club job fair. Students warm up with four questions about jobs and duties, then study the language in three blocks: Job Duties with Have To (have to / has to + verb for the things a worker must do), Don’t Have To & Questions (don’t / doesn’t have to for no-need, plus Do you have to…? and What do you have to do?), and an Interview Toolkit table of job-fair questions with model answers. Ten key words (job fair, interview, candidate, duty, uniform, skill, hire, firefighter, vet, chef) appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a Team File in which Zeynep, Leo, Mia and Kofi run booths for a vet, firefighter, chef and pilot, each describing their duties with have to. Practice includes 8 contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (has/have to, don’t have to, do, lesson words) with live validation, hints and a score; a speaking section with five interview prompts and a model booth dialogue; a guided 30–50 word writing task describing a job booth with a four-point checklist; and a full 8-question quiz with progress bar, per-question explanations, a result circle and localStorage persistence.
