🏫 Sunshine Club: An Apple, a Pen!
Lesson 8 of the Sunshine Club series (A1.1 Core 72, My Classroom unit) extends the school-things set with six new words: scissors, glue, crayon, notebook, eraser and apple. Children warm up with four move-and-say actions, then meet the new words in emoji word rows and learn the sound-based a/an rule with formula chips (a pen vs an apple) and a sound-check panel (an apple, an egg, an orange). A 10-row vocabulary table adds the review words pen, pencil, bag and book with 3-6 word kid definitions. The tiny story 'An Apple in the Bag!' (about 65 words) stars Ela, Tom, Nina and Omar finding school things in a big bag, with six hover-tooltip words and a word-cards chip row for early readers. Six flashcards review the new set, and practice offers 8 one-word fill-in-the-blanks (a/an, is, and lesson words) with live green/red feedback and hints. Speaking gives five point-and-say prompts and a model What's-this dialogue between Ela and Tom. The frame-based writing task mirrors the homework (find one 'an' word at home) with a 10-20 word target, a 4-step checklist and a live word counter with auto-save. The lesson closes with an 8-question ultra-simple quiz (two questions about the story) with one-line explanations, a progress bar, a score circle and localStorage persistence.
