✍️ Explorers: Draft to Better Draft
A fully interactive A2.2 Writing Studio lesson that teaches revision as a craft. Students warm up with four questions about first tries and better words, then study a two-box Upgrade Menu: Three Power Upgrades (add a connector, add an adverb, swap a weak word — each with a before/after example) and a Weak Word to Strong Word table (nice to amazing, big to huge, said to shouted, went to ran). Ten key words (draft, improve, upgrade, connector, adverb, edit, weak, vivid, reread, author) appear in a scrollable table with A2 definitions, and six become review flashcards. The reading is a model before-and-after: Mia's flat zoo draft, then her three upgrades and her vivid final draft, recycling past continuous (the monkeys were climbing quickly) and connectors, with seven hover-tooltip words. Practice gives eight fill-in-the-blank items on the three upgrades and lesson words with live validation, hints and a score. Speaking offers five prompts and a model dialogue of two explorers upgrading a flat sentence aloud. The writing task is the homework — write a flat first draft, then a better draft applying all three upgrades in 30-50 words, with a four-point checklist, live word counter and auto-save. A final eight-question quiz mixes the three upgrades and two comprehension questions about Mia's draft, with progress bar, explanations, a result circle and localStorage persistence.
