💼 What Do You Want to Be? Jobs & Dream Careers

A2 Teens Lesson 37 teaches students how to talk about jobs and dream careers — a core CEFR A2 'can-do' function. The hook is universal: every teen thinks about what they want to be when they grow up. The lesson opens with a warm-up that asks students about jobs they see every day and what they find interesting. The grammar core has three parts: (1) 'want to + verb' in positive, negative, and question forms with clear examples; (2) 'would like to + verb' as a polite alternative, showing the contraction 'd like to'; (3) A comparison box showing when to use each form. A dedicated jobs vocabulary grid presents 14 common jobs with workplace descriptions. The reading is a 'Dream Careers' magazine feature with four teen profiles from Brazil, South Korea, Nigeria, and Germany — each explaining what they want to be and why. Practice includes 8 multiple-choice questions with 5 colour-coded hint tags (want to / would like to / jobs / negative / question), a partner interview about dream careers with model dialogue, a 70–100 word 'my dream job' writing task with checklist, and an 8-question quiz with progress bar and reading-comprehension recall.
