❤️ Grammar A1-16: like / love / hate
The sixteenth material of the Fleydo A1 grammar series, written for learners of about seven to ten. It teaches one sorting question — is it a thing, or is it something you do? — and hangs the whole topic on it. Two pattern pictures open the material (I + like + pizza, I + like + swimming), then a pair of cards shows the two shapes side by side, then a table brings back the third-person s from the present simple: he, she and it say likes, loves, hates. A four-step feelings ladder runs from love with three hearts down to hate, and picks up don’t like and doesn’t like on the way. Practice is spread across five sets — six feelings items where the learner reads what somebody does and chooses the word, eight easy form items, a ten-card sorting task that trains the thing-or-action question, eight harder items inside short contexts, and a six-item test — plus a small -ing spelling table (play, read, swim, make) and six real errors to repair. Every answer explains itself in words simpler than the grammar being taught. Teacher notes give a 45-minute sequence, the two-column board move, what to do with a stuck learner, and why the “to swim” door should stay shut at this level.

- Negative: I don’t like fish. He doesn’t like fish. (never “doesn’t likes”)
- -ing spelling: play → playing, swim → swimming, make → making
- All of them takes the -s word: I like dogs, not “I like dog”
