🏫 Sunshine Club: The Lost Pencil
Lesson 10 of the Sunshine Club series (A1.1 Core 72, My Classroom unit) is a story lesson built around 'The Lost Pencil'. Children warm up by hiding a pencil and echoing the key line (Where's my pencil? It's in the bag!). Word rows introduce the story words lost, look, find, in and on, and a pattern box models the where chunk (Where's my...? It's in the bag / It's on the desk) with formula chips and a where-words panel. A 10-row vocabulary table adds where, pencil, bag, desk and box with 3-6 word kid definitions. The main story (about 80 words) follows Tom looking for his lost blue pencil — in the bag, on the desk, in the box — until Nina spots it on his ear, with six hover-tooltip words and a word-cards chip row for early readers. Six flashcards review the story words, and practice offers 8 one-word fill-in-the-blanks (in, on, lost, look, is, find, ear) with live green/red feedback and hints. Speaking is a hide-and-find re-enactment with five prompts and a model six-line dialogue between Tom and Nina. The frame-based writing task mirrors the homework (hide and find a pencil at home saying the lines) with a 10-20 word target, a 4-step checklist and a live word counter with auto-save. The lesson closes with an 8-question ultra-simple quiz, mostly about the story, with one-line explanations, a progress bar, a score circle and localStorage persistence.
