📊 Grammar A2-5: Quantifiers

A complete A2 grammar material on quantifiers, built to the Fleydo CEFR Grammar Syllabus (topic A2-5). Most courses teach only half of this topic — much with uncountable nouns, many with countable ones — and leave learners writing sentences like “We took much water.” This material teaches both axes. The first is the noun: if a number can stand in front of it, it is countable and takes many or a few; if not, it takes much or a little. The second is the shape of the sentence: much and many are at home in negatives and questions, while a plain positive statement calls for a lot of or lots of. A three-step decision list and three fully worked examples show the procedure in action, a side-by-side comparison with a verdict resolves the statement rule, and a second comparison separates a few from a little. A twelve-noun sorting task drills countability on its own, six reveal cards make the learner commit before checking, and a letter from a camping trip lets them tap any quantifier and read why the writer chose it. Thirty explained multiple-choice items across four graded blocks, six error corrections from real notebooks and three trap boxes close the topic. Teacher notes give a minute-by-minute sequence, the board demonstration that teaches the second axis, the Cambridge A2 Key relevance and the follow-up topics.
