🎒 Little Stars 28: What's in My Bag?

A complete 45-minute teacher-led lesson that opens the My School Bag unit of the Little Stars Compact 36 journey — the unit that eases four- to six-year-olds towards big school, so the tone stays proud and grown-up rather than babyish. Four things only: bag, book, pencil and crayon. After the fixed Hello Routine with the puppet Pip, a real zipped school bag is passed round, felt from the outside, and unpacked one thing at a time with the whole class echoing each word twice. A four-line open–close chant then puts a real bag and a real book in every pair of hands, sung three times at silly speeds: slow motion, super fast and a whispered round. A two-team relay packs both bags with the things Pip calls, with the class cheering for both teams and nobody ever out. A “What is missing?” memory game hides one of the four things each round for a choral shout, and a calm crayon minute closes the lesson with free drawing while the teacher narrates the colours in English. Recognition always comes before production: opening the bag, pointing or miming all count as correct answers, and nothing is read and nothing is written. A closing teacher screen carries the minute-by-minute plan, the materials list, support and challenge notes, the 30-minute adaptation and the home connection.
