📖 Lesson A1 Reading👫 People & Relationships

🙌 Sunshine Club: The Friendly Monster

A fully interactive A1.1 Kids reading lesson from the Sunshine Club series (Lesson 28, My Body unit). Children warm up with monster faces, teeth and claws, then meet the story chunk 'It's got + body part' in a formula-chip box with three say-it examples and a Remember panel (me → I've got, monster → It's got), plus five story words in emoji rows (monster, terrible, claws, roar, friendly). Ten key words appear in a scrollable table with 3-6 word definitions and tiny examples, and six get review flashcards. The main reading, 'The Friendly Monster' (about 80 words), is a Gruffalo-style description — two big eyes, a purple nose, terrible teeth, ten sharp claws and a ROAR — with a friendly twist: the monster smiles, likes cake and joins the Sunshine Club. Key words carry hover-tooltip definitions and a word-card chip row supports the sight-word race from class. Practice includes 8 one-word fill-in-the-blank sentences about the monster with live green/red feedback, hints and a running score; a speaking section with five read-and-roar prompts and a 6-line model dialogue between Tom and Nina; a frame-based writing task (describe the monster in two lines, 10-20 words) with a 4-step checklist, live word counter and auto-save; and an 8-question multiple-choice quiz full of story questions, with a progress bar, one-sentence explanations, a score circle with tiered feedback and localStorage persistence.
