🏝 Survival Challenge
Students read a gripping article about three Indonesian teenagers who survived 49 days adrift in the open ocean. Survival expert Maria Santos explains the three key rules of survival: finding water, building shelter, and staying calm. Grammar focus covers modals of obligation and advice (must, have to, should, need to, mustn't, don't have to) with clear distinctions between personal obligation vs external rules, and prohibition vs lack of necessity. The interactive game puts students in 10 desert island survival scenarios where they must make the best decision. The writing task asks students to create a survival guide or diary entry using at least 4 different modals.
