Nomthandazo Mahara

I am a passionate and dedicated ESL teacher from South Africa with a calm, patient, and supportive teaching style. I believe that students learn best when they feel comfortable, understood, and encouraged, so I always give learners the time and space they need to understand not only what is correct, but why it is correct.
I currently teach on the Voxy platform, where I work with European adult learners in structured, conversation-focused lessons. This experience has strengthened my ability to follow lesson materials while adapting my approach to suit each student’s needs, level, and learning pace. I focus strongly on real-life communication, pronunciation, fluency, and confidence, and I provide clear explanations and gentle correction to help students improve naturally.
My students often respond positively to my teaching style because I am calm, attentive, and genuinely invested in their progress. I enjoy helping learners overcome hesitation and gain confidence in speaking English for everyday, academic, or professional use. Teaching English is meaningful to me because I enjoy seeing students grow, express themselves more freely, and achieve their personal goals through language.
