🎥 Explorers: What Was Happening

A fully interactive A2.2 Kids grammar lesson that opens the Past Motion unit of Explorer Club Master Level. Learners warm up by freezing a moment from last night, then study the past continuous in two blocks: Actions in Motion (was for I/he/she/it and were for you/we/they, both plus verb + -ing, with a time-signals panel: at 7 o'clock, at that moment, all morning, last night, then, at midnight) and Making the -ing Word (three spelling rules — just add -ing, drop the silent e, and double the last letter of a short verb). Ten key words (camp, tent, campfire, torch, forest, moment, midnight, shine, whisper, climb) appear in a scrollable table with kid-friendly definitions and examples that model the target grammar, and six get review flashcards. The reading is a ~125-word frozen scene of Team Compass camping in a dark forest at eight o'clock, packed with was/were + -ing actions and key vocabulary highlighted on hover. Practice includes 8 contextualised fill-in-the-blank questions (choosing was or were, adding -ing, and applying the spelling rules) with live green/red validation, hints and a running score; a speaking section with five prompts and a five-line guild dialogue; a guided 30-50 word writing task describing what the family were doing at eight o'clock last night, with a four-point checklist and live word counter with auto-save; and a full 8-question multiple-choice quiz mixing the past continuous form and spelling with two comprehension questions about the forest scene, featuring a progress bar, per-question explanations, a conic-gradient result circle and localStorage persistence.
