📖 Lesson A1 Reading🏠 Everyday Life

👕 Sunshine Club: The Kind Giant

A fully interactive A1 Kids reading lesson from the Sunshine Club series (My Clothes unit, Lesson 52). Children follow 'The Kind Giant', a tiny present-tense story (about 95 words) about a very big giant with new clothes who gives them away to cold friends: his hat to a little bird, his jumper to a cold dog and his shoe to a cat with no bed, ending happy because he is kind. The lesson opens with four act-and-say warm-up moves (giant arms, giving gestures), then presents the three big story words (giant, give, kind) in emoji word rows and the giving line 'Here's my...!' as a formula box with three examples and a story-chunks panel. Ten words (giant, kind, give, happy, cold, hat, jumper, socks, shoes, jacket) appear in a scrollable table with 3-6 word definitions, and six get review flashcards. The story features five hover-tooltip definitions and a word-cards chip row of six sight words (giant, hat, jumper, shoe, kind, happy) for early literacy. Practice offers 8 one-word fill-in-the-blanks (big, hat, cold, kind, shoe, has, is, can) with live green/red validation, hints and a score bar. The speaking section has children act the giant with five short prompts and a six-line model dialogue between Nina and Omar ending in a real giving moment. The writing task mirrors the homework (tell two things the giant gives away) with three sentence frames, a three-step checklist, a 10-20 word target and a live word counter with auto-save. The final 8-question multiple-choice quiz checks story comprehension and the words kind and give, with per-question explanations, a progress bar, a result circle with kid-friendly feedback and localStorage persistence.
