📖 Lesson A2 Reading🎉 Fun & Culture

📚 Explorers: The Long Story

A fully interactive A2.2 Kids reading-feast lesson in the Explorer Club: Master Level series, where students bring together all three Reading-Club strategies on one long story. Part 2 is a pre-flight strategy checklist in three boxes: 'Three Reading Powers' (predict + skim & scan + guess new words) with a five-chip pre-flight panel; 'Before, During, After' showing what to do at each stage; and a 'Which Power, When?' table matching predict, skim, scan and context clue to the right moment. Ten story words (cave, torch, tunnel, narrow, echo, glow, ancient, treasure, dust, brave) come with kid-friendly definitions and examples, six as review flashcards. The reading is 'The Cave of Light', a ~150-word illustrated adventure starring Team Compass that recycles past simple and past continuous (was hiking, was looking, were glowing) and models context guessing (Leo guesses 'crystals' from the glow clue), with seven hover tooltips. Practice offers 8 fill-in-the-blank items mixing story facts, vocabulary and strategy words with live validation, hints and a score; speaking gives five prompts that walk through predict, skim, scan, guess and rate, plus a five-line model dialogue; the writing task guides a 30–50 word story review with a four-point checklist and live word counter; and an 8-question quiz mixes strategy knowledge with comprehension of the long story, featuring a progress bar, per-question explanations, a result circle and localStorage persistence.
